Te Matakite & the Sacred Diamond is a fictional New Zealand film based off of the story of Rua Kenana who was a well known Maaori Phrophet. The film documents his journey up Maunga Pohatu in search of a sacred Diamond that was shown to him from the heavens.

Part of this project was to create the packaging for the DVD release of this film with a DVD Cover and Slip with a diecut feature.

I wanted to portray a haunting, mysterious and dramatic visual that emcompasses the narrative and mood of the film.

The idea was to create a DVD cover that would be able to sit amongst legitimate films on the shelves of any store and be convincing.
